I would have come. I would have watched her back. She knew that.
Her focus dropped to the floor. “You’ve done enough. Besides, I already told you that my business wasn’t your problem—”
A dry laugh escaped me. “And yet, you’re here with another Pack due to an agreement you made with Carter?”
“Yeah, well, my business wasn’t anyone’s problem until I realized members of your Pack had been taken. That changed everything.”
I pushed myself off the sofa. “So, us getting kidnapped didn’t change that? Me getting kidnapped and wanting justice wasn’t a good enough reason for me to want to come with you to find Marie, and finish this?”
Her jaw tensed. “It was a good reason. It is.”
“It’s fine for you to demand to go to the facility to get justice for yourself and for a room full of blood crazy Infecteds that could have killed you. It’s fine for you to come to Italy and finish this, but I don’t have a right or a say in the matter? I’m not allowed justice for what has been done to me, to my Pack, to us?”
“Of course you are. I just—” she tightened her grip on the frame, “—I didn’t want you to get hurt again.”
